With all luxury carmakers gearing up to launch the new incarnations of their flagship models, can GM sit idle! The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is in the works, and as per a new leak, the car is almost ready for production. The luxury SUV with an impressive heritage has made some notable changes, both exterior style, and interior-wise. The leak has surfaced just weeks after GM unveiling the updated models of Tahoe and Suburban.
The company has also confirmed that the upcoming Escalade will be shown in Los Angeles in February 2020. Upon release, the luxury SUV will lock horns with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class, Lincoln Navigator, and BMW X7.
The unveiling of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is going to take place before the Chicago Auto Show. GM’s enhanced SUV platform comes with independent rear suspension, which should lead to excellent ride quality. The profile of the new Cadillac Escalade resembles that of the less glamorous cousins, aka the Tahoe and Suburban. The exterior styling is also impressive. At the front, there sits a massive metal grille, and it has got narrow headlamps. The car also has some visual similarity to XT6 SUV.
Even inside of the vehicle looks classy and stellar, from the leaked images. It is also likely that GM will incorporate the latest safety technologies in the car, and its infotainment system will also get a boost. The leaked images make the cabin look somewhat like the 2016 Escala concept, but it is likely to undergo some changes for the final version.
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade will be quite powerful, and it will be laden with a 6.2-liter V-8 unit. However, industry insiders think GM will also launch a model with a turbo-diesel 3.0 engine. It is not known if GM will offer an electric powertrain for the model. However, it is too early to rule out the possibility, either. It remains to be seen if the new GMC Yukon model is unveiled along with the Escalade or not.
